How does it work?

Wood contains natural oils and resins to protect it against the weather and aggressive insects like termites etc.

When wood is cut, it looses some of its protective oil, but the application of penetrating oil protects it once more.

Oil soaks into the wood as opposed to coating it, and so even if the surface becomes damaged, the oil is still there to protect it, un-like varnish and lacquers which will chip and leave the bare wood open to permanent damage.

Where can oils be used?

On any wood surface indoors or outdoors bearing in mind that all oiled surfaces need a fresh layer of oil once a year or whenever needed so it might not make sense to oil a wood frame window on the 10th Floor.

Not suitable for laminates.
